Peru regulator questions Cálidda gas concession extension, flags tariff risk

Peru's energy regulator Osinergmin has issued a technical report questioning Cálidda's proposed concession extension to 2043, which would expand natural gas to seven central and southern regions. The report warns that connection targets do not guarantee wide coverage and challenges the recognition of US$854.9 million in assets, potentially adding US$1.832 million in tariffs for homes without guaranteed gas for over a decade. The dispute could affect natural gas expansion and consumer tariffs in Peru.
