Peru to overhaul mining formalization process with new MAPE Law

Minister of Energy and Mines Guillermo Shinno announced a new legislative framework for artisanal and small-scale mining (MAPE) to replace the existing Reinfo registry. The transition creates regulatory uncertainty for current registrants, as their legal status will be contingent on the forthcoming scheme scheduled for November.
