Somali-Born MP Sugal Abdulwali Sworn on Quran in UK Parliament

Sugal Abdulwali, a Somali-born MP, took her parliamentary oath on the Quran, a first for a Somali woman in the British Parliament. The event highlights her refugee-to-MP trajectory and has drawn both praise for her identity and criticism tied to her origins. This is a symbolic political milestone within UK domestic politics, with no immediate policy implications.
