Netherlands denies visas to three Russian gymnasts ahead of World Championships

The Netherlands refused visas to three top Russian gymnasts—Melnikova, Listunova, and Kalmykova—for the World Championships, where 2028 Olympic team berths are at stake. The move follows Ukrainian scrutiny of their ties to the Russian military or pro-war symbols. This is a state-level sanction against individual athletes, reflecting continued Western restrictions on Russian sports participation amid the Ukraine conflict.
