Six new species of Ophiocordyceps fungi identified in Jalisco, Mexico

Researchers have identified six new species of entomopathogenic fungi in Mexico that exhibit host-manipulation behaviors in ants. While the discovery expands the known diversity of these organisms, there is no evidence of zoonotic potential or risk to human populations.
