Iran escalates weekly drone/missile attacks on Hormuz shipping

Iran has intensified attacks on commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, conducting roughly 30 drone and 10 missile strikes weekly since August, according to Asharq Al-Awsat. This marks a significant escalation despite U.S. naval presence, threatening a critical chokepoint for global oil transit. The claim is sourced from a regional outlet and lacks independent corroboration, so the exact scale remains uncertain.
