Wind farm investments in developing countries prove safe and profitable for European pension funds

A database of 28 development banks shows that renewable energy projects in developing countries, such as a wind farm in Egypt, can be relatively safe and profitable for European pension funds. The Netherlands plays a key role in facilitating these investments. This challenges the perception that such projects carry high risk, potentially encouraging more capital flows into emerging-market energy infrastructure.
