Iraq denies Houthi bases, cites border closure as technical issue

Iraq's government spokesman denied the presence of Houthi bases on Iraqi territory and asserted that Iraq will not be used to threaten neighbors. The closure of the al-Sheib border crossing with Iran was attributed to technical and infrastructure readiness, not security concerns. This denial follows regional tensions and aims to reassure neighbors amid Iran-aligned militia activity.
