US reportedly strikes Iranian island Qeshm in Strait of Hormuz; Trump denies recent fighting

An American newspaper reports a covert US attack on Iran's Qeshm Island in the Strait of Hormuz within the last week, while President Trump asserts the US has not been engaged in combat for several weeks. The claim is unverified and contradicts official statements, creating uncertainty about US-Iran military activity in a critical maritime chokepoint. If confirmed, this would mark a significant escalation in the region, with direct implications for global oil transit and regional stability.
