Longest Notiomastodon platensis tusk found in Argentina

A complete tusk of Notiomastodon platensis was discovered in a ravine at Bajo del Tala, San Pedro, Argentina. The Museo Paleontológico de San Pedro reports it is the longest specimen of this species documented in South America. The find adds to paleontological knowledge of Pleistocene megafauna in the region.
