Russian drone strike on Kyiv scientific institute; blast near EU embassy

A Russian drone strike hit a scientific institute in Kyiv in what appears to be a botched assassination attempt, causing a fire and forcing scientists to flee. A separate drone exploded 200 meters from an EU embassy, raising concerns over diplomatic security. The attack continues Russia's pattern of strikes on Ukrainian infrastructure, but the proximity to an EU embassy marks a notable escalation in risk to foreign missions.
