Chilean police dismantle gang 'Los del 30'; leader directed from high-security prison

Chilean authorities arrested nine members of the criminal gang 'Los del 30' operating in the southern Metropolitan Region, while its leader, already imprisoned in the Recinto Especial Penitenciario de Alta Seguridad, allegedly continued directing operations from inside. The operation, led by the PDI and Gendarmería, highlights persistent prison-based criminal coordination despite high-security measures. The extent of the gang's network and any complicity within the prison system remain unclear.
