Nigeria: Obi support group leaders freed after 24-hour detention

Elijah Noah and Ben Smith, leaders of the Obi-Kwankwaso Movement, were released after over 24 hours in police custody in Uyo, following a disputed Independence Day march. The detention and release highlight ongoing tensions between civil society and Nigerian security forces over assembly rights. The incident is localized but signals potential political friction ahead of elections.
