Kurchatov Center chief: nuclear arsenal is Russia's main safeguard

Mikhail Kovalchuk, head of Russia's Kurchatov Institute, stated that Russia's nuclear arsenal is among the world's best and serves as its primary safeguard. This is a routine reaffirmation of Russia's nuclear deterrence posture, consistent with prior official rhetoric. It signals no change in capability or policy, but reinforces Moscow's reliance on nuclear weapons amid ongoing tensions.
