Norway recalls Turkish blue poppy seeds over opium alkaloid risk

Norwegian food safety authority Mattilsynet recalls blue poppy seeds imported by Akar Food AS due to elevated opium alkaloid levels, which can affect the central nervous system. The affected batch, from Turkey with lot OM/23-1203, was sold in standalone grocery stores in eastern Norway and Bergen. This is a localized food safety issue with limited market impact.
