Turkey weighs Saudi air defense support under Mecca pact, rules out offensive role

Turkey's foreign minister stated Ankara is assessing defensive support for Saudi Arabia against Houthi attacks under the August Mecca Joint Defence Agreement with Pakistan, explicitly excluding offensive operations. This signals a potential deepening of trilateral military coordination, though concrete commitments remain unspecified. The move could alter regional deterrence dynamics against Iran-aligned actors, but its operational impact is uncertain.
