Near-miss incident involving rail workers on Westport-Dublin line under investigation

Two rail workers narrowly avoided being struck by a train traveling at 108 km/h between Castlerea and Ballyhaunis, having only seconds to clear the tracks. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the safety failure and whether standard operational protocols were followed.
