Costa Rica CNE requests national emergency declaration for flood-affected cantons

The National Emergency Commission (CNE) has formally requested the Executive branch to declare a state of emergency across nine cantons following weeks of persistent rainfall. The flooding has caused significant infrastructure damage, including road destruction and the isolation of communities in the Caribbean and Northern regions.
