Venezuela Ministry of Health conducts onchocerciasis eradication efforts in Amazonas

The Venezuelan Ministry of Health has initiated medical interventions targeting onchocerciasis within indigenous communities in the Amazonas region. While the disease is primarily endemic to sub-Saharan Africa and Yemen, these localized efforts aim to eliminate the remaining transmission foci in Latin America.
