Russia strikes Kyiv overnight, one dead, metro bridge damaged

Russia launched significant missile and drone strikes on Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities, killing at least 7 and injuring dozens, including children. These attacks occurred concurrently with, and immediately following, US-mediated diplomatic engagements and Russian statements regarding peace talks, suggesting a disconnect between stated diplomatic intent and military actions. Ukraine responded with an unprecedented drone barrage targeting Moscow, with Russia claiming 630 interceptions, indicating a significant escalation in cross-border aerial attacks.
