Spanish government seeks domestic buyer for olive oil producer Deoleo amid Coricelli acquisition bid

The Spanish government is intervening to encourage a domestic acquisition of Deoleo, currently owned by CVC and Alchemy, to prevent the firm from falling under foreign control. Italian group Coricelli has submitted a 500 million euro bid, but the outcome remains uncertain as the government pushes for a Spanish alternative to maintain national ownership of the Carbonell and Bertolli brands.
