TRE-RJ recounts votes Saturday; expected to confirm Ruas' election

Brazil's Rio de Janeiro regional electoral court (TRE-RJ) will recount votes on Saturday after annulling votes for Anthony Garotinho, which should push PL candidate Ruas above 50% of valid votes. Eduardo Paes' coalition plans to appeal to the Supreme Federal Court (STF), leaving the final outcome uncertain. This is a domestic electoral dispute with no direct market implications.
