Makin Island ARG Deploys from San Diego to Pacific

The Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, comprising USS Makin Island (LHD-8), USS Anchorage (LPD-23), and USS John P. Murtha (LPD-26), departed San Diego on Monday for a scheduled deployment. The Navy confirmed the movement, which signals routine force rotation but adds to U.S. naval presence in the Pacific amid regional tensions.
