Austrian Health Insurance Chief Proposes Shift to Outpatient Care and Stricter Provider Accountability

Andreas Huss, Chairman of the Austrian Health Insurance Fund (ÖGK), aims to reallocate funding from hospital systems to outpatient services by 2029. He is also pushing for stricter operational requirements for contracted doctors and has rejected the implementation of financial incentives for preventative health behaviors.
