Senior RSF commander defects from Hemedti's forces in Sudan

Senior Rapid Support Forces commander Siddiq Ander has defected from Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo's (Hemedti) forces, according to an exclusive video obtained by Al Jazeera. This marks a notable internal fracture within the RSF amid the ongoing civil war, potentially signaling weakening cohesion. The defection's impact on the conflict's trajectory is uncertain, but it could embolden the Sudanese Armed Forces and alter local power dynamics.
