Belgian village opposes 39,600-chicken industrial farm on landscape grounds

Residents of Pailhe, Clavier, Belgium, are protesting a proposed industrial chicken farm with capacity for 39,600 birds, citing landscape and nuisance concerns. The project, planned by two local farmer brothers, is in early planning stages with local opposition mounting. This reflects broader rural tensions over agricultural intensification in Wallonia.
