Belgian federated entities face unsustainable debt by 2031, BFP warns

Belgium's Federal Planning Bureau (BFP) projects that several federated entities will be unable to sustain their debt by 2031, with Flanders' debt reaching 118% of net revenues and a less than 5% chance of reduction. The study excludes the German-speaking Community and Cocof, while Cocom is counted with Brussels. This fiscal stress could pressure regional budgets and intergovernmental negotiations.
