Hubble/Webb data show 27 TNOs retain primordial solar system clues
PerfilLO·1 day ago
An international team using the James Webb Space Telescope has detected that the two rings of the centaur Chariklo are changing over a few years: one is becoming more opaque, the other less. This is the first time ring changes have been observed on a small solar system body, providing new constraints on ring dynamics and evolution. The finding is based on JWST observations, but the underlying mechanisms remain uncertain.
