Chimborazo Province Reports Two New Forest Fires Amid 467 This Year

Two new forest fires in Riobamba and Penipe add to Chimborazo's 467 fires and 1,541 hectares burned this year, per Ecuador's risk management agency. The recurrence suggests an ongoing dry-season pattern, though current containment status and cause remain unconfirmed. This strains local firefighting resources and highlights regional climate vulnerability.
