Nigeria to launch large-scale local weapons production within a year

Nigeria's defence minister announced plans to begin large-scale local production of defence hardware within a year, aiming to meet domestic needs and export to other African countries. This marks a significant shift toward defence industrial self-sufficiency, though details on funding, technology, and specific weapons remain unspecified. The move could reduce Nigeria's reliance on foreign arms imports and bolster its regional military influence.
