Chilean regulator charges Codiner and Frontel over power grid failures

The Superintendency of Electricity and Fuels (SEC) has initiated formal charges against utility providers Codiner and Frontel for failing to meet maintenance and compliance standards prior to a July 2026 frontal system. The investigation links these regulatory lapses to the extensive service interruptions experienced in the La Araucanía region.
