Verastem KRAS G12D inhibitor shows early promise in pancreatic cancer

Verastem Oncology reported encouraging early efficacy for its KRAS G12D inhibitor in a Phase 1/2 trial of over 200 patients with advanced solid tumors, including pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. The data are preliminary and not yet peer-reviewed; the key uncertainty is whether response rates will hold in later-stage trials. This matters as KRAS G12D is a common mutation in pancreatic cancer with few targeted options.
