Pakistan reaffirms commitment to Saudi defense under Makkah pact

PM Shehbaz Sharif met the new secretary general of the Makkah defense alliance, retired Lt. Gen. Nauman Mahmood, reiterating Pakistan's commitment to Saudi Arabia's protection. The meeting signals continuity in the alliance's structure and Pakistan's role, though no new capabilities or deployments were announced. This reinforces the existing defense relationship rather than marking a shift.
