Russia's Federation Council appoints Andrey Denisov to lead International Affairs Committee

Andrey Denisov, former Russian ambassador to China, has been elected chairman of the Federation Council's International Affairs Committee, succeeding Grigory Karasin, who becomes first deputy. This leadership change signals a potential shift in Russia's legislative foreign-policy emphasis, possibly reflecting a continued focus on Asia. The move is routine but noteworthy given Denisov's China expertise.
