Buenos Aires seniors' cost of living up 43%, outpacing pension hikes by 16 points

A report by the Ombudsman's Office of Buenos Aires (CABA) shows the cost of living for retirees rose 37-43% from July 2025 to July 2026, while minimum pensions plus bonus increased only 27.1%. Public services and transport led the increase, eroding seniors' purchasing power. This highlights a growing gap between pension adjustments and actual inflation, potentially fueling social and political pressure in Argentina.
