Flávio Bolsonaro schedules Paulista rally on debate day, echoing Lula 1989

Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL) has called for a demonstration on Avenida Paulista to coincide with a presidential debate, a tactic reminiscent of Lula's 1989 campaign. The move is a strategic attempt to counterprogram the debate and energize supporters, though its impact on undecided voters remains uncertain.

Brazil Election: Flávio Bolsonaro Confirms Debate, Schedules Paulista Rally

Flávio Bolsonaro (PL) has confirmed his attendance at the October 25th second-round debate against Lula, reversing an earlier stance. Concurrently, Bolsonaro has scheduled a demonstration on Avenida Paulista for the same day, a tactic previously employed by Lula in 1989. This indicates a strategic shift to engage directly in the debate while simultaneously energizing his base.
