Trump envoy Witkoff to meet Zelenskyy, then Moscow, in bid to restart Ukraine peace talks

US envoy Steve Witkoff will meet Ukrainian President Zelenskyy before traveling to Moscow, attempting to restart peace negotiations between Ukraine and Russia. The visit also includes a request for the release of a US hostage, adding a secondary humanitarian dimension. This marks a renewed high-level US diplomatic push, though the prospects for a breakthrough remain uncertain given the entrenched positions of both sides.
