KGHM and South32 expand Sierra Gorda copper reserves and production capacity

KGHM and South32 have increased estimated copper ore reserves at the Sierra Gorda mine in Chile by 61 percent, extending the site's operational life to 2045. The addition of a fourth grinding line is projected to boost copper output by 30 percent beginning in 2031, signaling a long-term increase in supply for the global market.
