Baha'i teacher detained in Iran to serve prison sentence

Parisa Eslami, a Baha'i elementary school teacher, was arrested in Karaj on September 27 to begin serving a prison sentence, according to IranWire. The detention appears to be part of Iran's ongoing pattern of targeting Baha'i citizens for their religious beliefs. This underscores continued religious persecution in Iran, though details of the charges and trial remain unclear.
