Hong Kong reports 20-fold increase in public healthcare fee waivers following reform

Hong Kong's Secretary for Health reported 280,000 full fee waivers granted since the implementation of public healthcare fee reforms, up from 14,000 previously. The reform, which increased costs for non-urgent services to optimize resource allocation, appears to have significantly expanded the safety net for low-income patients.
