GLP-1 drugs may protect infant brains from oxygen deprivation

University of Gothenburg research suggests GLP-1 medications could protect newborns from brain damage caused by oxygen deprivation. The finding is preliminary, based on a new study, and its clinical applicability remains uncertain. If confirmed, it could open a new therapeutic avenue for neonatal hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy.
