Chile rafting accident kills 3; unauthorized entry suspected

A rafting accident on the Maipo River in San José de Maipo, Metropolitan Region, killed three women. Preliminary reports from tourism authorities suggest the group entered an unauthorized area and the guide may be a relative of the victims, indicating a private family outing rather than a commercial operation. The PDI is investigating; the incident highlights regulatory gaps in adventure tourism safety.
