Israeli settlers assault AFP photographer in West Bank; soldiers stand by

AFP photographer Yafar Ashtiyé was beaten with rifle butts by two Israeli settlers while covering violence against olive farmers in the West Bank, with Israeli soldiers reportedly looking on passively. A separate Palestinian was shot in the foot. The incident underscores ongoing settler violence and impunity in the occupied territories, though details of the context and any escalation remain unclear.
