Israeli armor enters Quneitra village, first ground incursion since 1974 ceasefire

Two Israeli tanks and infantry moved into Tal al-Duriyat near Al-Muallaqa village in southern Quneitra, per Syrian state TV. This marks a rare ground incursion into the UN-monitored buffer zone, potentially violating the 1974 Disengagement Agreement. The move escalates Israeli operations in Syria beyond airstrikes, raising risk of direct confrontation with Syrian forces or Iranian-backed militias.
