Slovak Democrats Drape Konev Statue in Bloody Sheet at Dukla

The extra-parliamentary Slovak party Demokrati draped a red sheet over a newly unveiled monument to Soviet Marshal Ivan Konev at Dukla, symbolizing blood, in protest. The act follows the monument's unveiling attended by coalition representatives and the Russian ambassador, highlighting domestic political friction over historical memory and Russia ties.
