Ukraine Resumes Refinery Strikes Amidst US Concern and Russian Economic Impact

Ukrainian forces have resumed large-scale drone strikes against Russian oil infrastructure, including refineries in Volgograd and Samara, following a brief pause. This resumption occurs despite reported US pressure to de-escalate, indicating Kyiv's strategic prioritization of disrupting Russian fuel supply and revenue. Putin has acknowledged a 1% GDP cost from these attacks but rejected a reciprocal truce, signaling continued targeting of energy infrastructure by both sides.
