China deploys high-altitude helium-based wind turbine prototype

China has successfully tested a transportable, helium-filled airship wind turbine capable of operating at 4,000 meters. The system aims to bypass land-use constraints of traditional wind farms by accessing high-altitude wind currents, though the scalability and economic viability of the technology remain unproven.
