Brazil reports Newcastle Disease outbreak in turkeys in Santa Catarina

Brazil has confirmed a Newcastle Disease outbreak in turkeys in Santa Catarina, a major poultry-producing state. This follows a 2024 case in Rio Grande do Sul that led China to embargo Brazilian chicken meat from that state. The new outbreak could trigger similar import restrictions, threatening Brazil's poultry exports and global protein supply chains.
