Ecuador Bolsters Fusarium R4T and Xylella fastidiosa Control with FAO Support

Ecuador's Agrocalidad, with FAO support, is launching a mission in El Oro and Loja provinces to strengthen control of Fusarium R4T and Xylella fastidiosa, targeting 200 coffee producers and technicians. This is a proactive biosecurity measure to protect coffee crops from these plant pathogens, which threaten agricultural livelihoods and trade. The effectiveness of the measures and the extent of the threat remain to be seen.
