Lithuania moves to extend military border deployment with Russia

Lithuania is seeking to extend a military deployment of about 100 troops assisting border guards along the border with Russia, currently set to expire on Oct. 16. The move signals sustained concern over border security and migration pressure, though details on the new mandate remain unclear. It underscores NATO's eastern flank's continued militarization amid ongoing tensions with Russia.
